About time zuluo3.  I know you've been putting in a lot of time, and it's good to see it paying off.  I too am somewhat streaky when it comes to salmon.  Hopefully I'll begin a good streak at Moutcha!!!

So ... where are the pics???

Dash Point is in Federal Way.  There's a park named Dash Point but go south of that and put in by the public pier/Lobster Shop resteraunt.  The pier is nuts but you can paddle south and get into some peace and quiet.

no pics PolePole.  I never remember that part.

by the way, I was fishing out of Mukilteo on Saturday and counted 4 kayak fishermen besides myself.  didn't get a chance to talk to any of them but it was great to see.

That's more than I've ever encountered except on trips organized here.  It's nice to hear about it.  Were they in SIKs?  SOTs?

there was one sit-on-top that looked like it was serious.  he had a rod holder mounted on it anyway.  the rest were sit-in and were probably guys chasing the humpy run who were'nt otherwise much into kayak fishing.

hey polepole, I should have mentioned that the fish I caught at Dash Point yesterday were my first salmon in a kayak.  I've caught a bizillion salmon but never out of a kayak so it was a sweet milestone.

this kayak fishing is such a great sport and I really appreciate the work you do with this website to get the word out.  I'm from back east where the sport has taken off big time and I'm sensing that within the next couple years, Puget Sound follow suit and  see many, many more kayak fishermen.

But of course! There were a million people, a lot of fish, and most people were on the banks...

zuluo3:

So did you try the plastic? That sounded like a great idea. I'm assuming you were talking about swim baits on a jig head.

I've had some gulp herring that caught the fisherman for a while that I have been wanting to actually fish. They are not exactly what I'd call swim baits (no paddle tail), but look like they could make great cut-plugs.
