Sunday was devoted to a good three hours trolling a pink Blue Fox on the Siuslaw river. There were only a few boats trolling as well. All I managed to catch was bait!

Today, Monday, I spent another 3 hours trolling the Umpqua, using a flasher and cut-plug fresh sardine. Absolutely my the most miserable day on the water ever! Launched at 9 am in the rain. By 10, the rain squalls started hammering me with 20+ gusts. Of course, the current was taking me west, and the squalls were out of the southeast! I took a break on the bank, waiting for the tide to change at 10:30. Finally the wind died down, and I had a wet(still raining) troll back to the launch. Lot's of fish jumping, but no takers.

Here's a couple of photos from yesterday and today.
Fishing is much more than fish.  It is the great occasion when we may return to the fine simplicity of our forefathers.  ~Herbert Hoover
