Gotta get out for some salt action, hopefully with good conditions for a change. Getting to be the time of year for some upgrading. Hoping to get down towards Simpson Reef or north to Baltimore Rock.. Would be nice to have a wingman. Conditions look excellent.

TUE...NW WIND 5 TO 10 KT. WIND WAVES 2 FT OR LESS. SWELL NW 3 FT AT 7 SECONDS.

Hey CBY - wish I could join you.  A surf launch out of Sunset Bay would be much better than the day of work my employer has planned for me.  I still want to get back down there and fish that place some more.  Good luck and have fun -

Alan

It was pretty nice out there today. Swell was pretty much as advertised and a bit foggy. Fishing was slow at first but i searched around until i found a nice patch of large black rockfish. Scared up a decent ling, let him go back.

Feels good to have a stack of fish bleeding out the drive well..

i forgot to charge my cam  and it died at the worst times. Forgot my lip grippers too.

See ya on the water..

cool video.  I see you have a GoPro on your wrist.  Are you filming from your wrist? while reeling also?  Just curious.  I ave the Helmet Hero and have only used the head strap so far, or hand held the camera.

This footage was from my Kodak Playsport camera. I made a mount for it. I didn't even turn the gopro camera on. The wrist strap really sucks for the kayak, nead to make a head or boat mount for it.

I haven't figured out where to mount mine yet either.  I have only used it a couple of times for fishing and at a water park with my 5 year old.  I had to buy 2 more gigabytes of ram for my computer because I couldn't open the files. I thought the HD video card would be enough, but it wasn't.

Great quality vid.

I'm trying to find a good placement for my camera.  How far forward is it mounted?

I'm having problems with viewing raw hd footage on my 'puter, i can opebn the files but they are very choppy when played. Makes it nearly impossible to edit properly. This footage was only filmed in WVGA mode. I need to get a HD video card.

I have mine in the mast hole of my Hobie so maybe about 3 feet in front of me. Needs to be a little farther forward. The playsport has an optional remote, after i get that i will move it forward a bit.

Great job Roy! Can't wait to get back down there for some salty action.

I had choppy video on the computer too.  However, it was beautiful on the TV.  I checked their FAQs on the website and the suggested solution is to film the HD at 30 frapes/second rather than 60 if the computer is not fast enough.  I did this and it helps a lot.

I'll have to try that. works great in WVGA and looks pretty good but i want the HD.
