I am in if the weather forcast changes.  Otherwise I'm going to plan on the following weekend.

I looked at Google map for Neah Bay. It looks like there is a wall that extends to the small island. Does that wall block out the swells and waves? If so, is there any good fishing inside of that wall? I fish from a SIK and would like to try. ???

Note that the Hobuck Hoedown surf kayak festival is this weekend ... so the campground is going to be crowded.  The flip side is that this can be a fun crowd and if you show up at the mess tent with a stringer of fish, you're sure to make a lot of friends.

Being that it's right there in the harbor it gets hammered by all different kinds of people. I think the best you can get is some pile perch or flounder. Then again that's a pretty heavily used harbor so keeping anything out of there might not be advisable. The strait can be protected as long as the swell and wind cooperate. When they do there's lots of spots between Sekiu river and NB that don't get much pressure. Just look for the pullouts on the side of the road w/ access to the water. There's fish in and around those kelp beds.

Decent Yak launch at Pillar Point county park.  Much closer in, there's Whiskey creek and Freshwater Bay.

I think these areas are closed for rockfish after 9/30. I'd like to get some rockfish and lings if possible.
