This is the third year that I got this trip together for a group of people that I fish throughout the year with.  We have been getting hammered with snow for the past couple of months and we all were looking forward to a day on the water.

We met at my house at 8AM for an early breakfast and a couple of "warm me up's"  before getting dressed in our dry gear and winter cloths for the 5 minute drive to the launch area.  I found a big enough plowed parking lot to fit about 25 cars within a short distanceto a small creek that led to the main river.

We started our way up river, only to paddle a mile or so before we hit a frozen part of the river that we could not get through.  We headed back down river and had about 4 miles of open water before we started heading back to the launch area.

After a group shot on the bank,  we all headed back to my house for a few drinks and some of my wifes home made venison stew and snacks before all heading to a local restaurant where we ate and drank for a couple of hours.

It was a day that we were all looking forward to,  and the weather was great with temps in the low 20's at the start and finishing up in the low 30's.

The looks on the people that we saw on shore were priceless and they all waved and said we were nuts!

Here is the group shot at the finish.

Here is my first try at making a video with a new Kodak play/sport camera attached to a camera mount on my kayak.

That Pro Angler looks like a TANK compared to the rest of the boats and I love the guy in the yellow hobbie smoke the huge cigar! Looks like a great time!
