Sorry about the pics not coming through.  Try this again.

Well decided to take more of a plunge into modifying the yak for fishing.  I've been fishing with just a rod holder, and I was really getting tired of the drag of the transducer I stuck to the outside with a suction cup (portable FF). So, it goes against every bone in my body to cut holes into a boat but after reading up on this site and others I took the plunge.  I figure nothing a few pool noodles (or Jane Fonda foam rolls) can't take care of if I punched a hole the wrong way...I hope.

Not clean and certainly not perfect but I think its going to work.

Added a 12 volt marine grade receptacle and ran the cables through a waterproof plug

Installed a RAM mount for the FF and another scotty rod holder.  Doubles to hold my camera.

Transducer install with the Jane Fonda Workout Foam Roll.  Good thing I outlined where I wanted it...lol.  Wasn't even close.  But it holds water.

Looks really sharp.  Nice work! That will be a fish killing machine.  I like the looks of the water proof through hull fitting.  What is it?

Is that ducer going to shoot straight down, or angle off to the left?
I'm not sure of the amount of slope on the bottom of that yak, it just looks off to me.

It is at a slight angle but it was one of the flatter spots I could find.  It's not half as bad as the picture makes it look though.  I figured my transducer on my powerboat is always rocking since I have it mounted off to one side and the boat is 7 ft wide and it works.  I guess its pretty much flat to the water if I happen to be leaning slightly left.

Will the signal degrade significantly if I have the transducer wedged into the foam in such a way that one side is maybe 1/8 inch off the hull?  I don't think its even close to be that off though.

I am a little concerned since I do use the bottom half of my pirahana max 160's range (300 to 600 ft) as much as I do the top half.

you did a good job for a first effort....

if it's cocked only that tiny bit, i wouldnt worry. i had the same issues on my Trident the first time and it worked just fine.

Just cant the transducer so its level with the outside water surface and make sure there is plenty of water sealed in the puck between the transducer and the boat bottom and you should have no problems

Thx. Let me know if you can see ways to improve things. I have zero issues with constructive criticism. That's why I'm here.
