I have a digital camera and a computer. How do I download pics from my computer or camera on to a thread? I'm sure it's very easy because so many people do it. Can anyone fill me in?  ???
                                              Thanks. -wetwhopper

Take a look at this link ... http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php?page=26

It's the same here.

BTW, I increased the attachment size limit to 4MB so you should now be able to attach most photos directly from your cameras without needed to resize.

BTW, uploading 4 MB images is still slow, so it still might be worth the time to resize them (I typically resize to 640x480) before uploading.

Also, we should be having a photo Gallery coming online soon (fingers crossed this week), so you'll also be able to uload pics there and point to then from your post.

Uh oh .... I added a Gallery to the site.  You can see the new tab "GALLERY" added to the menu above.

I added a Moutcha Bay Gallery here and added one pic.  Feel free to add more.

There is also a "Member Galleries" section where you can set up your own home.

Please tread lightly for now and don't go overboard on uploading pics.  The mod is new and I want to get a little testing and feedback in.  But please do try a few things out and provide feedback if you see issues or would like an enhancement.

Hmmm ... the scaler in the back end of the mod doesn't produce the greatest quality.  See this image which was uploaded as a 2112x2816 image and scaled by the bach end for display ...

http://www.northwestkayakanglers.com/bb/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=5

And compare it to this one that I prescaled to 640x480 using GIMP before uploaded ...

http://www.northwestkayakanglers.com/bb/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=7

You can see a definite difference, huh?  So let me see if there is a way for me to modify the back end to produce better quality images.

Umm ... I'm using the Windows version of GIMP.   :argue:

So the problem with the scaling appears that GD is not on my shared server.  That'll be remedied when we move servers soon.
