Beautiful boat, I have one myself and it's often referred to as 'the second wife' :D

Speaking of rigging though, even if you don't think you may consider it now you may want to keep the sail mast area clear for future AI consideration...

I have the same FF which I mounted to my Adventure. I bought the Ram mount, but ended up not even using it. Instead I mounted it to a board which I mounted into the pre-exsisting screw inserts, didn't even have to drill the boat. Its up high enough and I can see the FF through the the middle of the peddals. I also have the cables routed under the front hatch for now. I can post pics later if its not hijacking.

Post away, I want to see what others are doing!

You mean the sail mast hole itself?  Or the fact I put mounts all around where the sail will go... And I may need a second wife if I try to upgrade to an adventure  :-*

Okay I mentioned I was going to upgrade the battery so I made that purchase this week...

Instead of running it to the back I am going to bag it for now I am overloaded on room inside the yak.   If I start doing camping fishing trips I may wire it to the back hatch.

Should I have any concerns about it heating up in the bag?  I have seen posts where people are using the waterproof bags but better safe than sorry.

Purchased a Werker 12 volt, tested the ff over 8 hours today so all seems well, should pay for itself in AA battery costs (so I told my wife!).

That's how I have my battery set up in my Revo.  What I did to limit the movement of the battery in the bag is I took a 2" thick block of closed cell foam and cut it to fit the diameter of the bottom of the dry bag.  Then notched out the shape of the battery to sit solid in the foam. The bag works great for this purpose, as well as when off the water I just plop the 'ducer, wires, and Cuda all in the bag together.

Yeah, it keeps the battery upright and from grinding a wear spot in the bag.

And there is hardly a draw on the battery from the fish finder, you don't have to worry about it getting warm during use.

Nice Rig! Nicely done 10hunter!

That 12V 7 or 8 amp-hour gel cell seems to have become the standard and works great. It should give you at least 3 days of fishTV and at least 2 if you've got GPS.

I really like that dry-bag/storage idea. that's a good one! :icon_thumleft:

But if you do find yourself needing to buy batteries on your way to your fishing hole (read: you forgot to charge the sealed lead acid batt or left it at home.) ::) , you might want to try two 6V lantern batteries (the ones with the springs on the top) wired in series.  I have not yet tried AA batteries, but I don't think they have the capacity (amp-hours) of a 6 volt lantern battery (really 4 D-cells in a box). Even the cheapest, non-alkaline, lantern batteries (usually <$8 for two) work really well for up to 3 days and you can find them almost anywhere (Walmart sells them with a lantern for $5)

Just hang the center spring of one battery around the outside spring of the second battery and attach the ff leads to the other two springs. Make sure the springs are covered if you put them in a dry bag so they won't short each other if they get bounced around (a rubber band does a good job of holding the batteries together and keeping them from shorting as well)
