Prepping for a trip to Cook Inlet tomorrow!!!!!  Primary target: Halibut  Secondary :King Salmon.  A body of water rumored to have the second larges tidal fluctuations after the Bay of Fundy.  Tommorow if the weather forecast holds is like a PERFECT day to attempt this.  Variable winds less than 10knts, seas 1 ft.  Tide change of only 19ft. It can be as much as 30+ ft.  max currents 2.5knts Halibut are close to shore due to Herring and Hooligan running in the area.

A friend of mine says she wants to tag a long.  No worries about her physical abilities. Commercial Fisherman, fit as anyone I know.  Shows up for fishing in (literally "in") ice cold river with jeans when we are freezing in waders.  Canoes a bit, but never a ocean Kayak.

So she is going to be using a AIRE SEA TIGER inflatable 17ft kayak.  I know people who sell them and they say its going to work great.

Does anyone have any experience with them?

We are paddling half mile off shore MAX and drifitng with the tides. So the yak needs to be stable but doesn't need to go long distances. I know a drift boat just did it.  I am using my malibu mini-x.

Sharp things?  Like what?  Hooks, Harpoons, spiny fin dogfish....410 snake charmer for them big 'butts?!?!

Too bad she's like my sister.  "Go out on a date with me or I will puncture your ride!" Lol.  2 seconds after she hit the water, she'd be in my yak, and I'd be crab bait.
