Was on the water today and looked over to see this.  My guess is a solar halo with a sundog. Also learned that Owner hooks are like little kitten claws, beyond sharp to the point of sticky.

Sounds like a good story there.   ;D  Were they needle points or cutting points?

I love Owners!  I just wish I didn't loose so many of them.

Cirrostratus clouds!  These are high level clouds which are made up of completely ice crystals.  That halo is usually a indication of a change in weather system from high to low pressure, which means a chance of rain in the next day or so.   ;D

Nice pics with the buildings!

The stick was a brand spanking new stinger treble (needle), and if I would have received it from a fish trying to show me how it feels (Noah) I would be proud.  But sadly I accidentally bumped my lead overboard.  So glad I fish barbless!  There is some mighty nice fruit that comes out of them there trees ;)  Good to hear, I finally gave up today because of the zoom boats (speed boats) that were racing up and down the river.  As soon as they rounded the S. tip of RI you could hear them and they were able to clear the entire island in less than a minute.  At least them sober folks didn't hit anyone/anything at those speeds.  Wednesday...

Looks like a sun dog. I have never seen one here in the Northwest. Here is a pick of one from when I was living at the South Pole.
