I had to revise my fishing plans for the weekend due to my son's cat getting run over friday night. I had planned on fishing for some Chrome on the Willamette but he was really down so I decided to take him out with me and have some father/son time.
I changed my quarry to smallmouth bass because I knew we'd catch some fish which is a mandatory for a sad 11 year old. Gotta catch some fish no matter what. Seemed to do the trick. Brought a smile to his face and really brightened his day. Me I just had fun being Dad.

Great job!  The correct choice for sure.  Loved fishing those smallies when I went to scholl in upstate New York.

Right plan of action Yokut. Those are times you'll both remember and as my Dad is fast approaching "his time" he and I both have those memories and the love that goes with it. I take my hat off for you. :icon_salut:

I'm glad you got some quality time fishing with your son. The tandem hobie's are perfect for teaching/taking kids fishing. My 8 year old son caught a small halibut in the front of a tandem with me last summer in Huntington harbor, Ca. It was a riot! It pulled us all over the harbor. Nice job on a priceless day of fishing.
