So I caught my first fish from a kayak this last Saturday. It wasn't the 30+ lb Halibut I was hoping for, but it was a fun first experience fishing with all my new gear. The flounder was so small I didn't even know it was on the hook until I reeled up to check the bait. There were a dozen or so power boaters out as well; no one caught any that we heard about. The weather was pretty crazy, rain, sun, rain, wind, glad I wasn't paddling.
My cousin I was with caught something as well. We know what it looks like, but couldn't figure out exactly what it was. He actually caught two of them, and they seemed to put up a fight at first.

Awesome! Hey, first fish is first fish and flounder can be some decent points if you are in the AOTY competition.
