I'm going to be hitting the water around 4:00 Friday and probably fishing until dark if anyone else would like to join. I'm leaning toward George Rogers but I’d be open to other spots too. Let me know if anyone has any plans to be on the water tomorrow and maybe we can meet up.

*edited to 5-13 as I had to scratch today to go look at a house.

GB up to just below Cedar Oaks was real slow today.  I saw more Sea lions than fish.

Yeah I'm hoping that the rain may get some fish moving but I just want to get out and fish. Where is GB?

I think I will try for getting out there tomorrow as well.  Launching fro George Roger's Park.  I was going to try tonight, but had to work later than I thought.

Hope to see you out there. I'm still not sure where I'm launching from. Maybe Sellwood.

I got out for about 5 hours yesterday afternoon, launching from Fred's Marina. It was painfully slow with some pretty good wind for the first couple of hours making it a bit of work. I only saw 1 fish taken and the big sea lion was on the prowl most of the time. I understand the morning fishing was pretty hot which pretty much figures as this seems to be the way my luck is running this year. The fishermen were still talking in the afternoon about another on that same morning that had a tug-of-war with his net and the sea lion. The sea lion won again...  I got many warnings to watch out for the brute. He surfaced once about 20 yards from me and looked me over and then moved on.

Is George Rodgers park a pretty good place to launch from? Enough parking etc with all the guys out right now?

It’s just a city park and there is no open boat ramp for PBs but there is a nice trail down to the water that makes for an easy launch if you have a cart. If you don’t have wheels it’s a bit of a haul but not too bad. Parking isn’t usually an issue.

That actually sounds perfect Noah! No boat ramp means no PB's and less competition for parking etc.   Do you fish upstream or downstream from the launch? We still need to find a time to meet up on the water! Dave

Pretty much right across from the ramp. I'll be there today sometime around 300 if all goes well and then probably tomorrow morning bright and early. Swing by and give a wave if you like. Or bring the boat and do some fishing!

4 NWKA guys out at GR today... only 3 kayaks.... Pelagic sneaked in on his sled.

No fish to talk about when I left after 5. No one else on the water had seen anything all day either.

Only saw 2 sea lions heading downstream... (there's your sign)

Pelagic Paddler took off before me at about 6:00 pm.  I left about 6:30 pm.  Neither of us caught anything.  NoahK was still there when I left.  He had given up on springers and was fishing the banks for other takers.
