Saw on the news that there's a trout tournament starting at Hagg Lake, and another lake also, with some tagged fish.  One fish is worth a cool  $ 1 million bucks.  The tournament starts Sunday 5/15.  Wouldn't that be something if a kayak angler won it?

Seems I remember hearing about some NWKA members who know Hagg Lake pretty well.  I have to work, but good luck to anyone who can go.  Good Luck and Have Fun -

Alan

The tagged fish in Hagg are bass.  In Detroit they tagged trout.

The contest starts May 14 and continues through July 14, and participants must register on-line to be eligible for prizes. Register by going to the Cabela’s website at www.cabelas.com/fishformillions.

You should by a lottery ticket and, if it's a winner use it as a lure.  See if you can score double with it.   ;D

I fished Hagg yesterday and managed to haul in this monster. Pretty sure I don't have the skills to win this but fishing is at least partially based on luck, so why the hell not?

Hey Guys I'll share a tip with you, but take it for what it's worth.  Although officially a mystery; based on a slip in the statements made by the ODFW agent that worked with Cabelas, who happens to be one of ODFW's warmwater bilogists.  I'm almost certain that the million dollar fish and the other tagged prize fish are in fact bass and not trout.  I think a lot of people are mistakenly targeting trout.  Time is running out, but if anybody is after the prize hopefully this will steer you in the right direction.  And I only want to keep one third of your prize for the tip.

Has anyone read those rules?  You might want to before you spend too much time chasing a tag - just so you can get an idea of how unlikely of an event Cabelas actually having to pay out that "million dollars" really is.  Personally, I'd rather buy a lotto ticket.   ::)

They have the winners posted: http://contest.wannagofishing.com/cabelas/fish/winners Granted they've managed to dodge the grand prize thus far, but it looks like 10 of the prize fish have been caught in Oregon so far, so who's to say someone wont get lucky.  Since I like to catch bass even without the potential to win a million dollars; I think I'd rather fish than buy a lotto ticket.
