Took Nomadic out today for the big minus tide at an undisclosed Puget Sound area for some Dino action. Was very surprised to see the water level up from the heavy rain yesterday and the ebb tide was rippin'. It was close to a 13' tide drop. Searched for a slot I had pegged on an earlier trip and started out with my usual cluster f.... Zipper on my PFD was stuck in the material so I went partialy zipped Fished a bit with no action but as the fog burned off it turned into a beautiful day and water was dirty but smooth. as the tide dropped I hit a sand bar and started pumping for more sandshrimp and nomadic wanted to give it a shot also.I'll say.....he got me right in the kisser . The bar was loaded with ghost shrimp and we hit the water again. I re-anchored in 9.5'  and put on a few tasty morsels with magic thread. Was lazy so I put my rod in the rod holder and kicked back. WHAMMO!!! Asleep at the wheel and missed him. Reloaded and within 2 minutes(holding my rod,get your minds out of the gutter) a huge takedown and FISH ON. The prehistoric beast took off and I called Nomadic on the VHF to let him know that the battle was on. Quick released my anchor and played the fish for about 10-15 minutes and low and behols, I had my first legal
sized, legally hooked Sturgeon. It was 54" and weighed 42 lbs on my scale. Had Nomadic setup on my still in place anchor buoy to see if he could hit one too. It wasn't to be but he caught 2 nice Flounder. Fillet'd the fish at Nomadic's using the laptop computer You Tube method on the taigate of his pickup. It was a two person job and he got half of the fillets for his help and great company. Pic's included. I'm stoked! ;D

Very nice indeed.

You'll have to show me how to fillet a sturgeon with a laptop someday.

That is one hell of a dino.  It is always nice when you can catch a barely legal fish on the far side of the slot.

Pisco. Wish I could find a job right now. This is an expensive sport(fetish)and I'm getting frustrated with the lack of return responses from apps/resumes. Need $$ to fish and pay the mortgage. They say networking is your best option in landing a job so anyone out there let me know if you here of anything from Seattle area to the north. But in the meantime................

Fishnut,

Okay, I'm afraid I'm gonna have to insist that you take me with you to this "secret location" next time or I'll probably have to "banana" your boat when you're not watching.  >:D   And that reminds me... did you leave one for me?  :(

If at first you don't succeed....  maybe skydiving is just not for you.
