DINO FEVER....
Deepcolor and I met up around 12noon down on the Willy today. It only took a matter of minutes before DC had a nice 38-40" Dino up to the yak. After DC hammered another 2 shakers from the lower end of the hole, we decided to move around a couple times and ended up back at a spot DC recommended on the east side. At 3:45 the tap tap I'd been waiting patiently for finally happened. As I set the hook, it immediately doubled my rod over almost pulling it out of my hands. I looked over at DC and said "dude, this is big" as I released my anchor line from my kayak. We went left, then right then up river 100 yards and so on.  After 40 minutes of playing this Goliath, and feeling my arms burn like never before, Deepcolor helped escort us over to the bank where I could jump out and safely release this massive fish. As I was releasing this beast next to my kayak I realized it was approximately 60% of the length of my Hobie Outback. Both DC and I are estimating 7' long.  The only video we were able to get shows me trying to slowly back the dino out from underneath my yak only to have the fish almost take my head off with its powerful tail.
Have fun out there and BE CAREFUL!! Thanks a lot Deepcolor for all your help today.
Cheers!!!

That beast was massive and powerful.  Glad I got to see that and help wrangle him.  I'm not really sorry you didn't get any shakers or keepers.  Well done.

Thanks for all your responses. I thought you would all get a kick out of it.. As you can imagine, there were quite a few intense moments yesterday. I'm glad I still have all my teeth. Did you guys notice the 8z lead weight in the video that's swinging in front of my face when the sturgeon whipped its tail? Have fun out there.
Cheers!!

You are an Animal Jammer!  That's a true Dino.

I can't believe you made Andrew pull your anchor for you after that though.

Haha......
Yep, Andrew helped me huge yesterday. We drifted about 1/4 mile downriver with the fish and just so happened to land it right at my very launch(where the pic was taken) Deep color is a good man. He knew I was running late for a BBQ with the family and offered to pull my anchor. He sips good scotch too! Thx Again! I'll come and pick it up ASAP
