Siletz River Fishing info

Hi,

I am heading down to Depoe bay this weekend for the ORC and noticed I will be in near the Siletz river.  I was contemplating brigning my Spey and overhand fly rods to try for some Summer Steelhead and Serun Cutts.  Any suggestions on places to bank fish, techniques and flies?  I read somewhere that much of the land along the river is private and wading access is limited.  Is this river too small for spey?

They have a dock at Chinook Bend, or you'd probably have to drive up to Moonshine County Park. I think Strome park is closer, but the bank access at Moonshine is better.

The campsite is literally on the Siletz    With the exception of the oxbow just upriver from the docks, I don't recall the river being wide enough to justify a spey rod.  You may want to call ahead and ask Ralph if anyone has had any luck with Steelhead before you haul the extra gear down there.
