Hey all y'all.

I'm planning on making a short day trip to get a few fishies. I don't think I'm going to be camping out as I have a non-angler staying with me and its not really his thing.

Westport is just so close and I'm lazy, so I may just go there.

Sat or Sun morning, looking to launch around 6am trying to get back in a few hours after a few keepers.

Hit me up with a PM if anyone is interested

h_chris_e, t_l_2_1, and I are camping near and fishing at Cape Disappointment this weekend. I'm just camping Fri night and fishing Sat morn, but Tom and Chris are staying a second night. We'll be launching early on Sat morn, then doing family stuff at the cape in the afternoon. Your more than welcome to join us.

I'll check with Roland if you are planning on hitting Westport. We're both itching for some fishing and don't really want to camp out either. But, check the weather and swells and text me later.

I went out today to Westport, late start (8am) and the bar was getting nasty as it was approaching max ebb but still got 24" and 25" lings.

Will be headed out again tomorrow morning with Islandson (Dino) and PDW9MM (Rowland) if anyone wants to tag along. Tomorrow's conditions look much better anyways.

Went out with Islandson (Dino) and PDW9MM (Rowland). Very good conditions except for strong current pulling out to sea. I checked out with 2 nice big BRF's (no pics sorry, cut them up before thinking). Caught a cute cabby that I CnR'ed. It was a really tough workout fighting the current to get back.

With the strong current in Grays Harbor, timing with the tides is a good idea unless you want to paddle really far like we did today! Fishing the slack and incoming tide seems better than getting ripped out to sea at 2.5kt like today  :-\

Got a few pics of the beach when I was packing up, will post shortly

I'm beat...I'm so tired I can barely type this.

Like Micah mentioned, the tide was ripping pretty hard. But, there are a lot of fish...we lost a bunch Gulp tails. We probably would have caught more fish if we weren't spending so much time paddling.

I ended up with a small 24" Lingcod, I dropped one crab pot. It had 10 Dungees when I pulled it up. I only ended up with 2 keepers, 4 females, 2 under sized and 2 soft shelled. I was still pretty happy with my total catch.

Yesterday's trip got me thinking:

I should carry a tow line for safety's sake. Also I could have pulled Dino against the current to fish in one spot  :P

In these conditions, the Adventure with turbo fins really shines, the ability to pedal against the current and hold near structure makes a huge difference. I still am amazed by the seaworthiness and speed of the Addy in the open water, what a kayak!  :banjo:

My card reader is messed up on my computer, pics coming shortly.
