Hi all. I'm so excited that I discovered this club and site. I just bought my first kayak primarily for the purpose of fishing in the NW, esp the Puget Sound. So far I love it. I've fished off an on throughout my life but recently I've rediscovered fishing as i remember it when I was a kid. Of course I realized getting out on the water in a boat would make my experience all that much better but found myself not willing to drag my 85 lb Coleman canoe out to the water. The new Kayak has made me realize that having the canoe was like dragging around a tandem bicycle everytime I wanted to ride:)

I probably don't have the best kayak or the best rigged kayak but I have one and I have the basic gear to get started.

I've already caught a limit of crab on opening weekend and looking forward to the Salmon opener. My goal is to catch a (many) salmon from my kayak in the years to come.

I wish I would have discovered the sport years ago!

Welcome Bothell. Good to hear you have rediscovered thejoys of fishing like a kid would.
I think it's probably the same for most of us. The site has a wealth of info and if you're looking to hookup to fish, give a shout out. There are several yakkers in the Snoho Co
area, myself included.

Welcome to the Forum.

Out of curiosity, what kind of Kayak do you have?

P.S. the Surgeon General Warns: Kayak fishing is extremely addictive!
