and I'm (we're?) mean it on best offer. If you don't mind the cosmetics, pm or call me with a price. I mostly just want it out of the warehouse.

I just have to ask, but could that be partially fixed with cautious use of a heat gun and and a digital/infrared thermometer to meter the heat? Or would it be bad to even try to "push" the nose back out?  :-\

I would think that unless the plastic has been "tempered or hardened" your idea of using a heat gun is right on.
Using a baseball bat....since its wood and not a metal auto body tool that would act more like a heat sink....to push on the inside, would reshape the dented hull back out to the original shape.
I doubt that you could use an inflatable air bladder to do the "pushing out" of the plastic on the inside of the hull.
The best option would be to somehow seal the hull so positive air pressure could be utilized to push out the dent once heated/softened. :banjo:

gentle heat should be fine. I've used boiling water & gravity in the past, along with heat guns. Summer sun will also do a good job over time, not that we've receive much this year....

I've never had to repair a dent but this was a great tutorial of how to remove a dent using hot water and an air pump

I was debating, heat lamp , heat gun , pull tension, and then going in and using a 1" or so wood dowel/rod to punch the nose out as needed.  That Hobie footage was good stuff, but i would suspect that bow is going to hold some wrinkles in the end.

Dude that's ugly!!!!

I'd say hang it from a tree or tall building in the sun.  Pour HOT HOT Stooopid HOT water into whichever end is facing the ground. Wrap the outside with black plastic bag.
Allow it to soften. Drain and repeat if water gets too cool.

Keep it soft and start working it with a rounded wood dowel.

I think you're on the right track....I'd say have a potluck for the NWKA Forum members and their families. Hang it from a tree (no buildings), fill it full of candy and let all the kids have a swing at it. Viva la Hobie!!  ;D
