Anyone interested in meeting up on Saturday Aug 6 at Dash Point State Park for pinks? Meet at park parking lot shortly after the park opens at 8 am. I plan to jig with pink Maribou jigs and troll with Humpy killers.

Two of us limited out with four pinks each. I caught two trolling my humpy killer and the others on my trout rod using a pink steelhead jig. All where caught just out from and north of Dash Point State park in less than ten feet of water. Pinks on a trout rod, what a blast!

Nice job on the limits.

Did you just use a heavy banana sinker to get your humpy killer to depth? or did you use a down rigger?

We're gonna try and meet up with ravdakot in the morning to fish off of Browns Point. I don't have a humpy killer but, I'll try and pick one up after fishing tomorrow. I'm gonna try and hit dash point after work a couple of times this week if my schedule permits.

We had a bit of fun chasing them at Brown's Point last week, but it was pretty slow.  Ravdakot hooked into 3-4 but his jig hook wasn't cooperating.  I had one brief hit and my GF had a short take-down as well.  Saw a few fish caught by folks from the bank too, but it was really slow for the 100+ people that we passed by during the trip.

I used a mini dipsy diver with a 3' leader to a mini humpy killer. Trolled at 3-5' depth in 10 feet of water. Dash Point State Park opens at 8 am has plenty of parking. When we arrived only saw one other car in the parking lot. Don't forget the Washington Discovery Pass fee of $10 a day or $30 a year. Park Ranger was busy writing tickets. Jigs worked well when you saw them roll or jump. Just note the direction of travel and cast out in front of them. Where we saw one, there was more!

Thanks again Tony for the invite.  We were on the fish within five minutes of launching.  I caught my first salmon from a kayak, a nice fighting fish that got my blood going.  I was using a pink/purple jig.

Damn nice work!

I'm thinking of heading there this afternoon actually with some jigs/spoons.

So I'm looking at the map, you park next to the fishing pier right?

We actually launched from dash point state park and stayed to the right of the beach area in shallow water.  Its a little walk to get to the beach, but most of the walk is paved.  During low tide it might be a little longer to get out on the delta.
