Well the salmon and steelhead are on the way up the Big C.  I'd like to fish somewhere in the Umatilla area, downstream of McNary Dam.  Does anybody have experience in fishing the area from a Yak.

I've caught Salmon and Steelhead before but not from a boat so it will be a little different for me.  I've got Bow season kicking off this weekend so that will take up the next month.  Lots of time to plan a trip and get me geared up properly for the fishes....

Tips, Tricks and other anglers welcome.

Thanks!

You might want to PM EOB (the yak fisher formerly known as EOBasser).  He lived and fished in that area for years and used to do pretty well on the Salmon this time of year.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  --Mark Twain
