How many kayaks can you paddle at one time???  I paid half that for just the shipping to Alaska!

This is not sitting well with me.  I know I don't need it, but the price is right....

I now see the dilemma the ex wife used to have when shopping at "sales"..."Well, no I don't really need it but sweetie, I SAVED money!"

I FEEL your pain Rudy. I've got a whole shop full of kayaks, but love them all, and each one has a purpose. Anyway, I'd love for you or someone in the NWKA community to have it.
Let me know, we will be in AK until 9/11

My Hobie is for trolling!  I need a larger  platform and exercise for my upper body.  I am going to looks stupid with massive lower body and a wimpy upper if I don't paddle more.  That's my excuse at any rate....

Not sure I can ever get back into my mini-x given how hard it is to paddle.  I think my mini-x is going to get regulated as my transportation on rivers and small ponds.

Can I strap the two together?  lol.  Dang it.  I have to find some sucker...I mean friend on face book or elsewhere.....

rudy, you can always use the mini x as a cargo  trailer to tow behind one of the larger yaks. that way you could self support in luxury on long yak camping trips.

Rudy- Think of the Trident not only as an equalizer for your paddle physique but with such a LARGE stable platform, you'll be able to stand up too. Think about the visual perspective advantage of spotting birds on bait. Heck, you might even be able to sight fish for Halibut. You'll be working on balance and core strength too and most definitely catch more fish than from that new Hobie. lol.

Honestly, Rudy, that is a great boat at a very fair price. tons of below deck storage, good capacity, lends itself easily to plenty of mods [and there are tons documented online for you to get ideas]. be a great boat to get for the wife or the oldest kid so they could join you too.

heck, at this rate, why not splurge and get both his yak and his truck at the same time. your Civic isn't going to be able to carry everything at the rate you;re going..(Spot don't say a word :icon_compress: )

ok, that last is pullin your leg a bit but am serious about the first part, it's a good buy.

Rudy- WR's idea is genius! I forgot you were still driving and hauling your kayaks on your Honda. My truck is a sick deal and your two NEW boats will look great on the roof rack. As a bonus, no one will jeer or throw rocks at you because you'll appease both the O.K and Hobie subscribers as u drive to the put in. You'll also be driving a very safe and dependable (almost cult like Toyota 100). How can you go wrong. The mini-x will even fit in the bed with plenty of room left over for all your's and your best kayak-fishing buddies' gear too.  WR- I'll kick u a commission later.  :-X

You guys crack me up.  When I need a sales team, Chris and WR are the people I will call.  I am still trying.  I may need to put up fnancing for a friend.

I LOVED my T100!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Until some bonhead crashed into it and totaled it.  I was a solid member of the T100 cult.  My problem is a 2 wheel drive is like my mini-x.  Awesome but for me, its just going to get me in trouble without 4wd.

And WR, you have no idea.  The CFO in the house is vicious.  But I'll defend ya!

Seriously though.  It's tempting but I have to be practical here.  Still trying!!!!!!!!!

No pressure Rudy. It's all in good fun.
Pam said she saw u down at the ramp the other day. How'd you do? I had a 1/2 day local trip last week and we picked a few nice Halibut from the Tonsina area along with the usual P-cod but just one Silver.

Its all good and fun!  But I am serious based on desire but reality must temper desire a little bit...I think....

Tried halibut fishing but just too many P-cod at Tonsina.  Put a BIG bait down and ended up with a decent skate.  Trolled back in at the end of the day and between Tonsina and Miller's landing, hooked 5 and landed 3 silvers.  Probably should have been doing that all day but I really want to land a big 'but.  Hooked most along the bluff between Tonsina Creek and the private cabin closest to Miller's Landing.

How deep you fishing for the Halibut?  Maybe from 50 ft down I don't mind the P-cod, but dredging them up from 250ft to 300 ft a dozen times per hour just wears on ya.

so truly understand the sentiments. over the years, the toys, 'gotta haves", B.S.O's and all the other things that cause a guy to yearn for it have made a small mountain in the back of my mind.

still miss my 3000GT VR4, though. and a lot of the pistols and rifles i've let slide through my hands.......

Rudy, i'll make sure i've got a full frontal coverage option on the body armor... :laughing6:
