Okay, so my sonar died. I'll play with it some but it looks like the main on/off button isn't working properly (doesn't "feel" right).

So has anyone had any experience with the new down imaging sonar and shooting them thru the hull?

As I look things up I see that side imaging doesn't work with in hull transducers but it seem like the down imaging should.  But I have read conflicting reports for example of how the down imaging relies on the side imaging so it deosn't work but that can't be true since there are down imaging finders without the side imaging.  They also list a shoot thru hull transducer though I read its the same as the tarnsom mount but just comes with adhesive of some kind.

Might just get the cheap ones since I seem to eat fish finders annually but maybe if I step up, I will take care of it better...who knows.

Any experience out there with the down imaging.  Thought I saw a thread but couldn't find it.

I've had discussions directly with Humminbird tech staff about this.  They say there should be no issues with using a DI unit through the hull of a kayak.

Thank you!  Hummingbird should probably thank you too!  Now the family CFO hates you but don't lose any sleep over it...I never do.

Yes, I have been told that couch is quite comfortable to sleep on.  Fortunately for me, I legally won 100% voting stock in my "family" and therefore retain the CEO and Chairman of the Board titles.   >:D

Lol. The "hat" size is not anywhere near as relevant as how much that "hat" cost me. Looks awful good though...now.....
