Here's a recent example(paragraph 4) of why one shouldn't drag fish in the ocean.

Nice. Seems like sort of a no brainer.

Last time out I had a couple sea lions follow the blood trail from the salmon I had recently bled.  The fish was in the bag, but I still beat feet outta there.

I've got no love for the pinnipeds!  Between the fish that have been stolen from my line (from a PB in my previous life) and the couple of times on SCUBA they have ripped my mask and regulator right off of my face, I'll be fine if I never encounter one again.

Water everywhere, but not a drop to drink.

Never did have one rip life support gear from me, but once in Monterey a big one went after a ling I had on my hoop stringer.  I was surface swimming back to the Zodiac when suddenly I thought something was trying to break me in two.  I flipped over and saw boiling water behind me and thought the worst.....until I flipped back over again and was face to face with the damn thing.  One jab from the spear and he was long gone....and didn't get the fish.  Enough to damn near make me soil my wetsuit tho......
