i am thinking about going out in the Puget sound this weekend to try for some coho.  I am assuming the pinks are all but finished. I am new to kayak fishing so if anyone has some tips that would be great.   I was planning to try trolling with a flasher and artificial cut-plug herring. I am planning to fish on the slack tide but i don't have a fish finder so i always feel like i am guessing at location and depth.

Do you have a gps with a chartplotter function on it? That should give you a pretty good idea of the depth. As for your gear, the coho should bite on that. (this is based on my pb experience, as I'm a novice saltyak fisher too)
