I'm wondering if anybody would like to take me out looking for some Sturgeon in December.  I've never caught one.

I've got my own gear but I don't know where to go.  I'd also not want to go on unfamiliar water by myself.  It would be a lot of driving for me so 2 days of fishing would be great.

If we could get a group together that would be great.  I'd like to meet a few of you.

I wouldn't be against chasing Salmon or Steelhead while over there either.

Yo Joe.  I'd be happy to.  And I'm sure we could round up some other dino loving anglers around here.  In fact, there's usually a couple of us out in the local hole on any given weekend in December.  Just let us know when you want to hit it and we'll go over details later.

That would be awesome.  I'm pretty much open to any dates before the 5th and after the 15th.

If you'd like to fish the Columbia you can either paddle your own yak or jump on my Tandem Island (see photo below). I bet we can get a few more 'yakers to join us. I'm retired and typically go out during the week but wouldn't object to a weekend.

We can fish out of the Camas-Washougal marina at Parkers Landing. That's where I caught my first one last week and I'm eager to get more. OR license is good on the Columbia. We could also try some other spots on the Columbia, I hear the big ones are up around Bonneville.

I'm in Camas, right across from Portland. PM me if you'd like to discuss it.

I try to get out as many weekends as the family schedule permits. I far from being an expert but I am learning fast and would be happy to go out with you or to go out as part of a group.

It seems like quite a few people would be interested in doing a group outing.

Should we get a discussion going on setting a date/time/location/whatever?????

It's been a while since we've had an all out NWKA sturgeon meet-up.
Sounds like there's interest.  Set a date/time/loc and post an invite.

Looks like Craig, Noah and I are going to Chinook landing on Black Friday for keeper Sturgeon. Plan to fish the area below the Power Lines across from Lady Island. Hope we can get a large group out there.

Sounds like a good time but hopefully next time.  Prior commitments for the holiday and through the weekend.
If you do anchor up by the power lines be aware this can be difficult to retrieve your anchor due to the rock piles around the towers.

Yo Jo,
If you're driving the 310 miles from Baker City to PDX for Sturgeon, lets maybe meet up Saturday AM as well on the Willy. I'm sure we could get a few others to join the fun. Is anyone up for Sat morning with Joe???

I could probably do that, as well.

I could make Saturday morning on the Willy too.  I'll suggest George Rogers.  A little quieter on Saturdays than the 205 hole, because of the bridge restoration.  But I'd be up for that if you insist Jammer.

BTW, just hit GR with pdxfisher this morning.  11 dinos in the boat, all shakers though with a few around 40, plus I broke off a nice fish somehow.  How did you do pdxfisher?

Deep color is right. George Rogers would be perfect. Especially if we have a few people. There's so many great spots in that stretch of the river near GR.
