PDX when I finily get back to Oregon I will have to beg you to take me out and show me the way of the Dino Master. It sure is nice to have the interanet so I can at least see the fun even if I am unable to join in. Ihop I would love to see the full linegth feature of PDX Vs Dino (The Thunder From Down Under). Does that come with cartoons before the feature film? See you guys when I get back when ever that is. Once again :notworthy:

Great Video Bro thanks. I told PDX not to count his chickens in an older post, I STAND CORRECTED AND AM NOT WORTHY!!! :notworthy:

Oh, I'm sorry,  you thought I was just joking around :)

Sorry you did not make it out today firebunker23. Jammer, ndogg (Next Adventure) and pelagic (Groundswell) really made it an unforgettable day. In fact I would say that the day was Dino-Might :) I am not
sure that any of us can go back to fishing without that level of service :) I can see that we will be sitting out there getting hungry wondering where our food and beverages are!

I am sad to say that my arms are a little sore today. I may have to start hitting the gym if I am going to keep dino fishing.

Holy crap Batman! That was some monster. Glad to see it was released with nobody fouled.
And Craig, what is it with you and cameras?

Someone needs to document the insanity.  Besides, I am usually bored while not catching fish when everyone around me is.  I am happy to say no cameras were claimed by the Willamette today.

send that to JeremyWade of River Monsters fame. Bet he would be interested.

I like that dude's show.  That man has patience.  He did do a River Monster episode with white sturgeon.  I think the "monster" he was looking for was in Alaska, but I think he filmed it both there and either in the Frazier or Columbia River.

Here are a couple of shots of the fish Jammer and I caught. We both had a bunch of nibbler's most of the day , but I think a lot of them were these whitefish little guys.At least we were getting some action---it just wasn't quite what we were hoping for...

Here is also the real "money shot".Congrats PDX....enjoy.

Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

My hard drive is so jammed up with fishing videos that I'm limited in how much I can do until I get it cleaned up.

Here's about 5 minutes of the fight compressed into about 18 seconds. Note that PDX is being pulled up river against the current. At the point I fired up the GoPro he had already been pulled up river from his original anchor point and around a power boater twice! This little clip is only 10% of what I have on tape.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/zv8S-VZbnyg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

It was truly an epic battle. I tried to find some funky Charlie Chaplin type piano music, any links would be appreciated.

Get a Smugmug account.  Upload as much as you want and they store it for you.  I find it easier to share pictures at the full resolution with people that way.  You don't have to worry about email size limits. I just send a link.

For videos, I usually cut clips out that I want, or pull still photos and delete the rest.

I'll add my thanks also to everyone who made the day grand with hot beverages, hot food & friendship.  I thought I had a pic of CastIronTrouts' sturgeon but the camera(iPhone) didn't get the shot.  Great pics everyone!

Glad to go out with you. We just need to make sure we bring deepcolor with us. He has taught me a ton about sturgeon fishing. I was very fortunate yesterday - that was the first time I caught a bigger sturgeon than DC. I am not complaining, it was a great day to have that happen. Paraphrasing Satchel Paige, "It's better to be lucky than good on any given day".

Of course after I (or we) take you out sturgeon fishing I think I (or we) will expect to show us some good bass fishing spots down near Hebb park this spring!

I also have been remiss in not thanking Craig. In addition to the great video, he is the person who told me about that nice shelf up by where I was fishing. Of course, while I am thankful to DC and Craig, it does not mean I will not try to win next time  >:D

Here is the video with music.  It was hard to find a song that would work that was available to use for free.
I hope the music works.

Craig, Your pics and video coverage are amazing! The more I watch the video, the more I realize how freakin huge that Sturgeon is.  Did you guys notice how fast PDX grabs his rod out of the rod holder when that sucker took off? Good thing he grabbed it so quick. Also, did you see the lead flying around again?
Can I post the video on Hobie Fishings Facebook page?

Wow Craig you did a fantastic job! Each time I see that video I get kind of tense remembering how big and scary that fish was. When I saw it the first time I almost crapped my pants. Seeing it again in the video stills causes my colon to twitch a little. I think that the music that picked is great and really adds to the video!

Jammer, go ahead and post the video on the Hobie Facebook Page.  The funny thing about the fish diving straight down was that PDXfisher could not even get his rod out of the holder for several seconds (it seemed) due to the downward pressure.  I didn't get that on video because I dunked the camera in an effort to film the fish under water.

You are right Craig. The rod was jammed down in the holder and kind of wedged by the pressure from the fish. It felt like it took me a couple of minutes to get that rod out of the holder - I was really tired at that point. When that fish breached right before it dove and pushed my kayak up that was amazing to see and feel its power after that long fight.

When I showed my wife the video and she saw the age and weight facts about the sturgeon she said, "Wow it was younger, taller and heavier than you".

Youth and ability are no match for age and treachery :)

While I was fighting my fish it pulled me upstream past where Nat (ndogg) was hooked up. As I went by I picked up my camera and snapped off a couple of pictures of Nat just as he landed a nice fish. The pictures do not do it justice as I was a bit distracted at the time but I believe Nat said it was 39" (he can correct me if I am wrong).

39" it was.  Considering your situation those are great shots.  I gave the guys on the boat my E-mail address so hopefully they will send me some pictures of your fight.
