Here is a quick report and video from the saltwater fun on 12/6/2011.  It got lost in the excitement of the monster sturgeon last weekend, but since Insayn said he wants fish porn, I thought I would post it up.  Jammer, Pelagic Paddler, The Nothing, Noah, Ndogg, Ling Banger, and myself met up in the morning and were on the water by about 8:30ish.  Ling Banger was lucky enough to potentially be a victim of identity theft which got him out of jury duty.  Otherwise he would have missed out on the fun. ;D

We all were catching fish, and had this been the start of AOTY 2012, I would have posted about 450 points on the board in one outing.  It goes to show one saltwater trip is all you need for some serious points.  The lings in the 20-28 inch range were biting fast and furious for a while.  So much so that I, and others, were tossing back good eatin' sized fish in hopes of the big one.  For me, I was worried that I would regret that because it came down to one of my last hook-ups, the triple on my video, to get my ling limit.  If you look closely during that part of the video at Noah in the background, you can see the envy spewing forth from his face as he is looking over his shoulder at me. ;D  Just kiddin' brotha.

I didn't get any shots of the other guys fish because we were pretty spread out, and the motion of the ocean had me focusing on not getting sea sick rather than digging around in my hatches to get my camera with the long lens.  The sounds of certain people chumming the ocean in the background wasn't helping either. ;D ;D

Me too.  I didn't take advantage of it enough last summer.

That was a super nice triple, glad to see you're keeping your bow pointed East during those money shots. Pelagic was nice enough to show you his hole  >:D - you don't need to give it away to the entire intrawebs with some shore reference points. And don't pull all the fish out of that honey pot, how the hell else is Ron going to keep Spot or Jammer from walking away with the shiny belt buckle at ORC '12?

Did we mention Jammer took the MBF pot that day? Then he got all buddy buddy with me cause I brought some Ninkasi TD and Full Sail Wassail. Maybe some day you can pay me to drink your beers Michael?

Again, nice fish Craig, Big Hammer Swimbaits Git'R'dun! We both mentioned how we wished we would have pocketed a few more out of PolePole's goodie bag at ORC.

Also, it's cool how everybody loves that under the bridge shot. Just don't think your a big time director of photography, Haskell Wexler (One Flew Over...1975) beat you to it.

Hey, wait a minute!
What the heck is going on here?
What are you doing on this boat?
We're going fishing.
No, you're not going fishing.
Not on this boat.
You're not going fishing on this boat.
Oh, yeah, on this boat. Ask Captain Block.
- Captain Block?
- Captain Block. Yes, that's right.
Who are you?
We're from the...
...State Mental Institution...
This is Dr. Cheswick...
...Dr. Taber, Dr. Fredrickson...
...Dr. Scanlon.
The famous Dr. Scanlon.
Mr. Harding, Dr. Bibbit...
...Dr. Martini, and...
...Dr. Sefelt.
How about you? Who are you?
I'm Dr. McMurphy. R.P. McMurphy.
Wait, wait... Wait one second.
You don't understand.
We chartered the boat.
We're going to go fishing
And that's all there is to it.

I love Depoe Bay! Give me a holler next time there's a get together there. I can't wait to use the air horn again!

Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

There is just something about that footage of shooting out under that bridge onto open water that just motivates one to want to go fishing.
I can't wait to get to experience it myself.   Very nice camera work !!
I used to think that Bigfoot might exist. Then I saw the reality shows where they are looking for them.  Now I am certain they don't

I should have warned you.  One mistake I made was holding the camera on the peddle out. It made it a little too jerky when sped up. The video is always better from a fixed point.

Craig, I thought the video was perfect. I felt
more in touch with you guys because I felt
like I was rolling along with you. I would not
have changed a thing.

The super cool part of that scene was that salty motherfu$&er was really the harbormaster at the time, and the director Milos Forman showed up an hour ahead of the shoot and just said "Jack Nicholson is going to show up and try and take a boat, don't let it happen."
