Boats starting to pile up in the yard?

Two landscape timbers, six 2x4's, a couple sacks of quickrete and the side of a your garage can fix that.

Gives them a bit of separation to reduce breeding. Well, except for those two windsurfers. But they're too old for that.

Looks good. I want to build something in my garage. I am already using most of the ceiling space so hanging from ceiling is not very viable. One question I have is that you have your kayaks right side up. I thought that lead to dents and sunken spots and thus you were supposed to store them upside down with the weight on the rails. Am I mistaken or is it just not that big of a deal.

good question pdx.  I'd like to know that too.

My Yak sits on a couple saw horses in the garage.  I'd like to build a wall mount this summer for it.

Your not mistaken, upside down is a far better choice.
They were right side up because it took a better picture (and because it hides the fact that the crossbeams were a little bit short) ::) They all fit up side down, but not comfortably.

I'll either extend the fence side or add saddles or both.
(tack on a couple more 2x4's)

Can't see it on my iMac. I just see small blue squares with question marks inside. Sometimes I get that on other sites, too, but not that often. Must be some format (via which the pic was posted) that is incompatible with my browser. I'm just using Safari.

I need to build some racks inside of my garage. Might hang 'em down from the ceiling, or just stack 'em against a wall. Rails down.
Stuff grows on things left sitting outside in the shade around here. A good coating of algae might be some good camo, but it can get slippery when wet.

I built this rack a few year back and it worked great.

Also, for good rack ideas go to your locak kayak store and see what they are using and copy them.  We have had quite a few folks come in to the shop specifically to look at the racks.

Hey, nice rack of yaks. I might do something similar with 2x4s in my garage. Bottom one looks familiar.  That Necky sink with the pop-down skeg looks like a nice day touring ride.
