Almost time to sign up for this years Kayak Wars competition. Just gauging the interest for this year. I would think there should be enough people for three teams.

Looking for 1 or 2  anglers that fish 50+ days and could get between 1500-2000 points for a position on team 1. Takes dedication to take a picture on a measure for every fish you catch and upload it to the site so be sure your up for it.

Post up if your interested signup for the tourny should start at the beginning of febuary i'll post up a link when it goes live.

Need a team of retired guys that fish as much as me..we would own this tourny..where are you guys?
See ya on the water..

Who is this open to?  Any particular state you have to live in? Rules? Species eligible?  Any more details?  Sorry I'm new to this, so forgive me if I ask stupid questions.

I'm not retired but I do have 19 hrs of daylight in the summer.
No matter how many times the PB's tell me I'm nuts....I still smile every time I out fish them

9th place 2014 ORC
4th place 2014 Whiskey Gulch Yak Classic
1st fish ever entered & Day 1 Champion 2013 Whiskey Gulch Yak Classic

No need to be retired guys! I work 50+ a week and fished less last year than I normally do and was still able to put up 1300 points. It is all about planning and executing as a team. The tournament is much different than AOTY in that it is all about volume! The target fish doesn't have to be legal for retention so CNR all day long!

We have a small region so it would be easier to place 1st, 2nd, 3rd for NWKA teams. I think that we could put up at least 3 teams if not 4 or 5!
We also had 3 of the top 15 anglers for the points they use to draw for the grand prize!

... oh BTW, IT'S FREE!!

Lets get an idea of everyone that want to join a team and the level of intensity you plan on fishing with ...

Thanks guys,
~Bill

3-4 days/evenings per week all summer long.  And 1-2 days per week in the spring and fall.  Salt and freshwater available.

What were the prizes?  I might fish more if there are some sweet goodies up for grabs.

I'm shooting for 2k this year!
K_G - The top prize this year is a Hobie Revo and Hobie is the top sponsor again this year. I will let you know what we get as prizes in the next week or two. You will have a chance to rack up some serious points too! I was able to put 500+ in my one week in AK last summer.

The top prize is a Hobie kayak(2011 was a Revo). That is awarded with the kayak gold man points in a drawing. Gold man points are for number of fish milestones, slams(three+ different species in a day) , records....

I'll let you know when we get our prizes for 1st place in our region what and how good they are.

EDIT: LOL, we were typing the same thing at the same time Bill....

I am interested in getting on a team.  I fished close to 50 times last year, but I kind of suffered in the catching part.  It was still fun though.  Maybe put me on team 2 or 3.  In ten years I can join you in the retired department.  I may even know how to consistently catch fish by then.

I'd play on the B or C team if anyone needs a another angler. I think my fishing days will probably be in the 30-50 range this year.
