We will be in Blaine for 5 days, Ocean Shores for 5 days with weekend in between in Arlington. I am open to suggestions as to what I can fish for. I am looking into Kayaks fishing but I/We do not have yaks yet. I have fished for surf perch near Ocean Shores and probably will again.
I am open to suggestions.
Also Where would be a place where we might be able to try a Hobie Mirage Drive unit. We just got interested in kayak fishing and will get one as soon as we know which we want. Tandem or 2 solos ??????
Quality problems here ..... lol
THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP

Wow, Blaine is like 2 blocks from Canada, eh? Ocean Shores looks nice but still quite a way from the Portland/Vancouver area where a lot of us live. I'm sure there's a good Hobie dealer in the Seattle area, perhaps they would let you demo a few.

I had similar decisions to make and opted for the Tandem Island. So much fun to sail and fish. Room for two adults and two kids. Costs a bit more than two singles but so versatile. If you get near Portland let us know, we'll make sure you get a chance to experience all the options and maybe even catch some fish.

Are you going to use it in Arizona?

Yes we will. Already making plans for spring fishing trips. We have a small lake we really like and have caught several 2 pound crappies, flathead also in lake. And Lake Powell is ....... well LAKE POWELL, we have caught stringers of stripers I cant lift, ya ya I know Im older now. lol.
We spend several weeks each year on coast Oregon and Washington, so yes I hope to get the ocean.
We think we are sold on mirage drive so I can fish we go along. We are leaning to a tandem so both can go ... but is it better to have separate yaks..... so many options ..... life's is good. I have to admit I love the proangler.... so much space to store stuff, keep it organized. We are in Newport the week before we are in Washington.

THANKS again very nice website.

My suggestion is to get 2 singles rather than a tandem.  You will have more opportunities to fish alone, so why haul around a bigger boat?

Hobie Cats Northwest to demo boats.  You should call them and ask how to dress for a winter demo.

My wife and I share a tandem. She really rather not deal with maneuvering in currents or during landing, etc. She rather I be the captain. That is why we have a tandem, and it works great for us as a couple. I fish out of it solo, and do just fine. That all said, I would rather have two singles. Lighter, more maneuverable, better balanced. There are advantages to either way. The Hobie Mirage drive is really worth it though, no matter which way you go.
