Just bought a new Tarpon 120 and looking for options of what others have done..

Big question for every Tarpon owner..... Has anyone cut into the rear well to install a hatch... want to put a hatch in there to store my battery, have access to more storage for rods and also access for installations on my toy.. Look forward to hearing from you.

Aside from tuning mine into a basic "angler model" by adding a Scotty base (same spot you mentioned in the other thread) and two Harmony flush-mount tubes behind the seat, not much.

I installed a compass on the front of the left foot well.

I installed the mounting hardware for a Pacific Action Sail, and played with the rigging until I "had it wired."
This should be a fun downwind sail. I need to go play with it and get to know it limitations.

I have no plans for installing a rear hatch. I plan to get large insulated fish bag  to occupy the rear well.

I can slide any of my 2-piece rods (broken down, of course) rearward through the 8" hatch in front of the seat for below-deck stowage. I have to bend them only slightly to do this, and they go in easily.
My 8 wt 9' flyrod goes in with the reel on. I could also store rods below deck by going through the forward hatch, angling them in toward either side, but I only keep my battery and drybag with emergency stuff up there, and plan not to have to open that out on the water unless I have to access that drybag.

For a day's fishing, I plan to minimize and keep anything I'll need in a small waterproof fanny pack on the back of my seat or under the 8" hatch, or in my pfd.  If I find that I'm taking along items that I don't ever use, I'll quit taking them with me (except for safety items). I intend to keep this as simple as I can!

I have a crate and tackle box that sit in the back but also would like the storage option to access the hatch before I hit the water. Biggest reason is I would like to move my battery to the back so I can make a few custom bins for the front hatch.
