Could you please post a good southern recipe when you get back? :) I'm down for trying new foods.

I brine and smoke them just like salmon but only for 2 hrs at a higher temp. Then I pressure cook them in mason jars and it softens the bones and intensifies the smoke. Sometimes I pour spicy sesame oil and add garlic before before canning (jarring).

Great White or Chartreuse Flash for shad.

Clear Red and Motor Oil Christmas for bones.

Motor Oil Red for surf perch.

I just ordered the perch grubs. I assume you use gold hooks..?. How do you rig these up for bank fishing and kayak fishing? Bonneville shad are starting to show and I'm hoping one of the OR guys will show me the ropes on kayaking fishing these little fighters.
