Since ya'all seem to be liking it enough to request an occasional alert, I can claim that your readership assuages my self-promotion-associated guilt and offer up news that Allen and I have yet another issue available for your consumption.  In this go around, we chat with four anglers known for the intensity with which they have immersed themselves into the sport.  Yesterday's release featured Chad Hoover, who took over Hook1.  He also wrote a book, made a web page, starred (well, stars - it premiers soon) in a TV show, and generally established himself as a true ambassador of the sport.

Today we feature Captain Chris Mautino.  You may have seen him in some of polepole's pictures, or simply jealously stared in dreamy wanderlust as you realized that he is, in fact living The Dream.  And living it with style.  I know I did.  Sigh.

Both of these interviews, along with my usual ramblings of theme, can be accessed here:

http://TheMilkCrateMag.com

Wednesday and Thursday will also feature some fireside chats with some mighty fine gentlemen.  But we'll save those teasers for another day.

Thanks for reading.

We've added Tommy Samuels and Ty Southerland to this week's issue.  The former is an in-demand guide, and the later is the host of the "30 Miles Out" series.  Some of you displaced southern boys will enjoy Ty's stories.  Dude has some talent with a Bic pen, too.

First time I have seen an issue and love it.  Just last Saturday I was stuck at work for 12 hours and found Ty's youtube series and watched every one of them.  I would love to get out there to the oil rigs and fish that area with those guys.  I can only imagine the afterparty :)

Nice profile of Chris Mautino -- such a great guy who guided me on my introductions to kayak fishing in Resurrection Bay.  Where's that photo taken where he's on the stand-up between icebergs? Bear Lake? Sweet.

Oly, thanks.  I'm glad you enjoyed.  Ty does indeed seem like a fun guy.  He has a spin off show where he takes call in questions and offers further detail into the 30milesout episodes.  A behind the scenes, if you will.   Check it out sometime...

Akfishergal, I don't know where that pic was taken, but is by far one of my favorites.  We have some UK-based anglers in the pipeline, and I assure you that they, too, will be offering up some more cold water gems when it comes to imagery.

Thanks for checking out the site.

Issue 9 is out, and it has us heading to the UK.  Rob Appleby kicks off the set.  I, personally, am very stoked to have Rob on board.  I've been a fan of his blog, Saltwater Kayak Fisherman, for quite some time.

My wife seems quite indifferent to these nocturnal activities, though it goes a long way to preventing expensive mistakes and enhancing the kayak fishing experience.

 Subtle nuance?    ;D

If you're gonna find a nuance, it will be within today's interview.   We've added a few more anglers to our UK angler fleet, with plans to add a fourth piece tomorrow.  Today's release features Mark Crame, who is, perhaps, one of the most stoked kayakers out there.  If you need some inspiration to warm thy cubicle, Mark provides...

I could be tacky and reference the awesome 80s film, Spaceballs, but I won't.  No "may the Schwartz be with you" here.  Nope.  Just good old fashioned fish pr0n.

Jon Schwartz (Bluewater Jon) now in The Milkcrate.

If you've ever fished PC, you've likely shared water, or a cold pint of Pelican, with Gaz.  Not a kayak angler, per se, but a cool cat and fellow board fisherman.

No super cool destinations, no stories of crazy tomfoolery - but the most enjoyable article to date.  I think it's because he's just so down to earth and, nice.
