The following are the salt removing and cleaning solutions I have used over the years on my PB and now use on my Hobie.

Salt-Away: Dissolves the salt so it can be rinsed away.  I use a diluted solution of 6:1.
Corrosion Block: After using the Salt-Away, I treat all metal parts with Corrosion Block.  (Alternates - WD-40 or equivalent)
303 Protectant: Apply to all plastics parts and top of hull.  This provides UV screening and makes clean up a lot easier for the next trip.

The first thing I do when returning from a salt water trip is spray my fishing gear (rods & reels) and all metal parts on the Hobie and Mirage Drive with the 6:1 Salt-Away solution.  Let things sit for a couple of minutes then rinse with water.  Don’t use a pressure nozzle, just let the water run freely from the hose.
Next I treat all metal and working parts with Corrosion Block
And finally I wipe down the Hobie and all plastic parts with 303 Protectant.
Now I'm ready for my next trip.

My experience over the years using this approach on my gear and PB has saved a lot of $$ from having to replace rusted / broken items.  ( I suppose one could not do maintenance and have a good reason to upgrade to the latest toys however)
