Ok guys i know someone out there has this unit or knows someone with it. is the transducer a thru hull or not. Does anyone have any kind of review for a "kayak fisherman". And any thoughts on any others but the price is awesome for this unit.

Pretty much all ff's are shoot through the hull. That goes double for kayaks as the hull is thin plastic. The only signal "loss" you might suffer is the temperature reading may be 1 to 3 degrees off.

Search "Lowrance" on this board and you should get waaay more than you want to know about that unit and transducers in general.
