Hello, first time posting. I met some of you at the Kayak Fishing 101 and learned alot. It gave me the idea to make this system to contain my anchor rope. I got an empty line spool from Sportsmans, used a dowel for the handle and noodle  and added a leash. I usually fish the lakes here in Southern Oregon. I did get to yak fish on Maui with my son in January.  Any yakers this far South? I envy you guys, we have to wait for the lakes to thaw. Hope to get out on Klamath Lake next week and get one of those 10 lb trout.

Nice little set up.  I may have to rig something up like that for lakes.

I fished with my Son Mike on Maui in January. He has acquired three different yaks, one is an older Hobie. We fished out of Makenna landing and off Ollawalu sp?We caught some strange sounding type of fish, which were good to eat. He was in Portland and came to the Kayak Fishing 101 with me.

I kayak fished out of Makena Landing in January also.  Conditions were pretty rough and all we caught was bait, but it sure was nice to be on WARM water.   (Close, "Olawalu")

My Son has lived on Maui for over 20 years and has a beautiful boat, but bought his first   Cobra yak last January when I was over there. He uses his yak for fishing more than his boat. He is also a free diver and Scuba diver.
