I'm a tad concerned with the wheels and tires though.  Any idea what they are rated at?
Smaller wheels tend to have a speed limit around 50 mph or less, and that's no fun.  :-

I thought those numbers were just "suggestions" to keep people with no trailering experience from driving to fast. ;)  Mine has seen speeds close to 90 mph higher than that once I am safely off the main (patrolled) roads in North Dakota.

What size are those rims and tires?

correction they are 12" x 5.3" 6 ply max load is 1045. We had the tires checked out at Les Schwab a couple of months ago. They said the tires were in great shape and they just changed out the valve stems.

They are 5.3 X 12 inch. Nowhere on the tires or on my trailer is there a warning about 50 mph.  I pulled it the 3200 mile round trip from Oregon to North Dakota and back and had no problems.  From the Washington border and thru Idaho, Montana, and ND  I was going at least (75 mph).  I may have been doing a few more mph in Montana and ND with no problem.

My trailer is designed to haul the weight of a couple motorcycles, or a riding lawn mower, or an ATV.  I think up to 1200 or 1500 pounds, I can't remember.  Their website is down now and is being rebuilt so I couldn't get the specs.

I too am looking making bigger fenders so I can get bigger tires.
Now that's a long haul!

On a 12" wheel at high speed you also need to be mindful of the bearings.  That wheel is spinning hella fast at 75+ mph, and could melt them bearings down and bind to hell.

I'm not preaching tire concern as a whiny butt, rather just giving you something to think about.  You wouldn't hit the ocean without a PFD or proper immersion gear, yet there is a good chance you'll be fine 95% of the time without one.  It only takes once to change your mind.  Same with small 12" and 13" trailer tires.  Age, rotation speed and max loads are running on borrowed time. When they go at high speed, it's game over for the trailer as you know it.

It's good you had them checked out and the valve stems changed out.  That's another weak link on any wheel.
With the correct tire pressure, you should be good to go for a long time provided you keep the trailer weight under 2000 lbs (easy to do with your trailer), and ground speed 60 mph or less.

Yeah, that is why I keep the bearings serviced and have new tires on it.  It is also why I want to step up to larger tires.  I am getting rid of an 18 foot boat with the opportunity to keep the trailer.  I am debating that scenario now.  The point of getting rid of the boat was to free up the space where it sits.  Keeping the trailer would kinda cancel that out.

Yeah but a trailer that size can haul your entire fleet rather than one boat you probably don't use as often;D

Exactly what I was thinking.  It could also serve as the storage rack if I put a roof overhead, which I will probably do anyways.

I appreciate all the feedback. I wish the trailer was a 4 lug, I've got some old 14" Enkei Outlaws that weigh only 18 lbs each with 185/60 tires.

Islandson671,
Did you ever get a key for your tool box?  This is where I picked mine up -
"http://www.ebay.com/itm/LOST-KEY-REPLACEMENT-FOR-TRUCKS-TOOL-BOXES-TOPPERS-/150562641350?pt=BI_Heavy_Equipment_Parts&hash=item230e3b95c6"
I haven't.  Thanks I'll check it out.

Got the truck box support mounted and added some eyes for the bow lines. Added an extra piece of profile in back for the stern lines.

So, after a few mods and box additions we finally got her loaded for our drive down to GS6. We even left a spot open to bring back my new kayak.

I'll try to get more shots in the morning. Including the folding / removable table we mounted in the back of trailer. I'll have pics while in use at GS6.
