Fished GR Saturday for the first time. Nice place. I had one hook-up and subsequently had a knot fail and bye bye fishy. Still fun though.

Managed to forget my cart in Bend and being I'm packing a F-N-D a ramp is kinda necessary. I may be able to hijack a long board skateboard though :)

you can back right down to the water at the launch at Oak Grove blvd and tie off to the brush while you park.

From my work at Worldmark I saw a few kayaks out in Depoe Bay in the late morning yesterday (Sunday).  You hung around the bell bouy and a bit to the north towards north point

How did we DO, guys?   It looked like you were only out there a few hours (which is what I usually do, don't like spening the whole day on the salt).    :banjo:

We did okay. It was a bit on the slow side and the wind waves sucked. I'll post up some more details later when I get home.

One 18" Black, a 19" and 26" cabbie, and a 22" and 23" ling. Only kept the big boys. Got on the water around 8:30 or so and off the water around 5:30. Not too thrilled about what some lings that got away did to my big hammers but that's a topic for another post, fishing calls and I must answer.

Yeah the wind waves sucked but we still had a good time. J-fek had a pretty good morning but I'll let him speak to that.
I has a couple lings 18-20 inches. Ended up with a porker 25 in Cabby and 4 rockfish.
I tried using buzz bombs for the rockfish and they worked. All of my rockfish and one of my small lings were on buzz bombs.

Nice meeting you as well Threecreeks.  I didn't have any luck downstream, but I did see a few more fish down there.  For some reason they weren't biting what I had to offer.  Maybe I'll try prawns next time.  Let us know when you're back in town and we can try again.  Have a safe trip back to Bend.
