For the first time in at LEAST a decade, I'm gonna be on the northern Oregon coast for Memorial Day weekend. I have a window on Sunday for some 'me' time....translation=yak time.

So, my plan 'A' is salt fishing somewhere between Cape Lookout and Nehalem Bay. Weather, sea, and swell dependent of course. Plan 'B' is some bay time either springer fishing ot crabbing or both.

If anyone else is coastie bound and can escape for some time on Sunday, here's an open invite to any and all.

I will be going out of Westport, WA saturday of memorial weekend- not on kayaks, but guided charter.  2nd year in a row.

Just a heads-up for you all.  If you are thinking about Depoe Bay for the memorial weekend, you may want to get informed about the annual Fleet of Flowers ceremony held on Monday the 28th.  Not sayin you couldn't yak fish that day, but you would certainly want to plan around it, and not be anywhere NEAR the harbor or channel while the boats are on parade.

And if you go out during the ceremony......... don't use an air horn!

Just tryin to be helpful.       :)

I also will be non-kayak guided charter out of Westport that Saturday.  Got coupons at the sportsman show for fee kid with paying adult and buy one get one half off for adults and couldn't pass it up

If the swell drops a bit for Monday I'll be going out at Cape Meares or Cape Lookout.  Monday's forecast is a tad bigger than I'd like at 6ft at 12 seconds.  Unfortunately I have a conflict for tomorrow.  I'll post my plans here later tomorrow if I decide to go.  I'd love the company.

Well, it looks like the swell is a bit more than I'd like for tomorrow.  I'll hit the Willamette instead.  Have fun out there!

I'm going to launch from River Villa Park in Oak Grove at about 7:30 AM tomorrow.  It's just downstream of George Rogers Park, but it's on the east side.  I'll paddle right past George Rogers in the morning and fishing right near there.  It's Jammer's "Good Luck Spot".  Come on out and let's catch a few!

Maybe I will see you guys out there.  My goal is a salmon, steelhead, walleye, smallmouth, sturgeon (for some kayak wars points), and a panfish tomorrow. GR is the place to do it.  I will settle for a salmon, but I gotta set the bar high.  ;D
