Seems like these two are very similar... With the exception if warranty. If I was buying new I would choose between these guys.  What are your thoughts and experiences? I spend several hours in a x-factor and really liked it - so I figured I would like the x13. Where is there a place I can demo stuff in the Olympia area?  I can't even find a shop.

Can't speak to the differences between those models, but the T13 is basically a Prowler 13 with some extra features like the mod-pod.  Any hull changes have been pretty minor from what I seem to remember reading.  But I could be wrong.  Anyway, you're welcome to try out my Prowler 13 if you can up this far north.  I could reasonably meet you as far south as Lake Stevens.  If I'm going down by you with the yak anyway I'll let you know.

I own the x-13 and have paddled The T-13 a few times, plus a few of my friends fish the T-13 and 15. The X-13 is Faster/sleeker. However the T-13 has the rod pod and sonar shield which are both really nice for below deck storage on surf launches. To stuff my hull for surf prep on the X-13, I have to shimmie up and use the front hatch. Not a big deal once you are familiar with the boat, but not as easy as the rod pod. The large square hatch w/bag in front of the seat on the X-13 pretty much eliminates the need for an extra tackle box on the water. You can stuff that thing with enough gear to do a multi species day trip with plenty to choose from. If I were to do it over, I would buy my X-13 again.

I have no experience with the X-13, but my first kayak was a T13 Angler and I loved it.  The built in transducer well is very cool.  The deck and storage area is generous.  The Rod Pod is convenient and the Sonar Shield is a great place for storing gloves, hoody, bait, ...  I could carry two Danielson folding crab trabs, floats, and line, plus fishing gear.  The wheels of a full size Wheelez cart fit in the front hatch, and the frame stows under the front hatch cover straps.  The rear live well has steep sides and provides secure storage for your catch.  The newer T13A has a very cool Rod Pod cover with a number of built in mount points for accessories.

My first and only (so far) kayak is an OK Trident T-11 and its fantastic for stabilty and storage. I can store and access my rigged 7' Sturgeon Rod below, without breaking it down, and while on the water. I don't have the sonar shield on the T-11, which would have been nice, but I'm fine without it. The only downside so far is tracking, but the T-13 being longer, may track better when you're paddling.

Sounds like you've got the right idea, getting out on the water and trying them side by side.  :icon_thumright:

You are welcome to paddle my boat. I'm off work (post ankle surgery) until the 27th of this month. If you can get down to Lacey we can throw her in any of the local lakes. I'm also going fishing in a PB either Sat or Sun eve on Nahwatzel Lake. You are welcome to take her out for as long as I'm on the lake that eve.
