Anyone have any info on the northern BC lakes like Atlin, Teslin, Dease, Kinaskan or Meziadin?  I will be fishing them on my way to Alaska in May.  Targeting trout, grayling and pike.  From what I've read these look like promising places (along with several Yukon lakes).  Some of my bass swimbaits need a change of scenery and the 4wt rod is way too dusty. Thanks,  Tom

Pike fishing in Northern BC isnt huge but your luck is improved as you get closer to the Alberta border on a whole...If you take the highways north from Prince George and head towards Hudsons Hope and then along the Alaskan Highway you can find the odd pike lake...Best bet is to find out the tackle/fly shops and try to call them ahead of time...Its been a while since Ive fished pike in BC so I cant help you with specifics...But Id focus on bigger spinners and limit the chance at the little trout...If pike are in the water they will take them...

What time of the year are you going up? If your going up north of kitwanga then dont bother trying for pike...Theres way better trout fishing...And salmon depending on when...I can give advice for fishing pike if you know a specific lake your hitting and the time of year...Let me know...And a 4 wt rod is pretty light for northern canada pike fishing...Id throw a 7wt rod at least...When you get into Yukon then you can get 25 lb pike that would snap a 4 wt rod...When you hit the yukon youll have allot better chance for pike fishing...

Let me know what your thinking...Sorry I could help with specifics...
