Even though I may not readily admit it, I spent the first 10 years of my life living in Rock Creek. I cut my teeth on the panfish and bullheads in what was then known as "Rock Creek Pond." caught my very first largemouth there. For reference, that was in the late 70's and early 80's.

Ahhh...the memories....:)

I grew up in Summerset West and would walk to Bethany Pond as a kid.  We used to catch bluegill and crappie as well as bullfrogs.  That was late 60's early 70's.  A local developer tried to take claim of it and called it Rock Creek Pond, but we never accepted the name change.  Many fine memories from those days.

Ahhh....the name game makes sense now!

Used to fish then head for a baclava at the Mad Greek. I think I heard Nick died a while back. Not sure about George though. Went back 10 years ago or so and George remembered my brother and I, gave us cookies like he did when we were kids. Good memories!

Pretty sure George is still around somewhere. Gotta love those pissed off Greeks and their sagging ceiling tiles. What they lack in location renovation motivation they make up for with fantastic gyros and Tandem Island size subs.

Well, I picked me up some Senkos and am planning on trying for some bass on my lunch today. Well see how that goes.
I'm planning on tossing out a green watermelon pumpkin and black senko on a Texas rig. If that doesn't work I may try wacky rigging it. If that doesn't work I'll switch to a smoke pumpkin with red flakes senko. If that doesn't work I'm throwing my rod in the lake and going back to work.

Well I have a pretty sedentary desk job so I usually walk around the Hillsoro baseball/softball stadium across from the fire station on my lunch. But an hour of that gets pretty boring.
That's why I started inquiring on local fishin spots. I'd rather C&R some fish than walk around for an hour.
Btw, if anyone is interested in joining me shoot me a pm. I'd love some company.

Where do you work if you don't mind?  I work at the intel campus right there, but at night. 185th and west union road would be the closest lake.

John, are you planning to do some night time bass fishing on your break?  8)

lol I got a mere 20 minutes of fishing in because they JUST so happen to be repaving 185th in front of the park entrance. So I had to drive around until I found a neighborhood to park in and walked to the park. No takes on the senko however I didn't get to fish the spot I wanted due to time constraints.
Anybody with experience out there got an pointers on hooking into some bass?

Come fish Lacamas/Round Lake with me, maybe Saturday? Round Lake has no power craft.

There are 4 or 5 old guys, (yes, older than me) that sort of take up the best spots at Bethany. One of them loves to help new comers, He has a thick Eastern Europe accent. Find him and ask for advice.

Thanks Wobbler. With a thick Eastern European accent he's probably from my native neck of the woods. Any idea which part of the lake I can find him?

He usually hangs out just north of the parking lot.  He likes to fish for trout but knows the pond pretty well.
