I was having trouble loading the Revo onto my car by myself. So here's my cheap solution -- the $5 knockoff on the Yakima boatloader idea. 3/4" conduit, lined with 3/4" oak dowel, sanded to fit. These are 5' In length, extending 3' from inside the standard crossbars. I use two, so I can rest the yak level while loosely strapped in, then I can hoist it from midships using the handle -- right onto the j-mounts.

Way to use your head akfishergirl.Looks like an easy plan. Some of them he-man's will probably copy your idea.Anything to make life easier,eh ?
 Well done.

Oh..good luck on the Inlet this weekend.Be sure to get turned the right way this time.
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

I did something similar some time ago... You'll find you'll easily be able to lift the kayak right into the cradles before too long!  :wav:

Nice job on the load assist, looks just as functional as my Yakima Boat Loader.

Love the way the new Revo looks in the house. I always love just looking at my yak whenever I walk past it (sadly, it's relegated to the garage)...

Wonder how Fishnut knows about the fireplace risk?
