Here I sit after spending some time on one of the Twins....

It's a mere 15 minute go, dodging the four legged migrators, wafting through the drift smoke of a controlled re-newing of a patch of trees.

The kayak has sat, mostly dusty, for what seemed an eternity here in the high desert. I added some bling recently that needed test. And after a work week that ground my soul, I opted for a pellet head outing.

No love though...

A few half hearted pulls but no trout graces my pan tonight. No matter. Loons and eagles made strange companions. A couple bankies stared longingly at my watercraft. I paddled and trolled and wind drifted. Marking fish. Enjoying the solitude. Another month and this twin becomes unbearable. Amplified music and discarded Coors Light aluminum. I give it wide birth until after Labor Day.

It's cold here tonight. They say 24 degrees. The wood stove brought out of hibernation. Charcoal smoke wafting outside. Some derelict bovine on the grill to be complemented by a plate full of greens and a brown root, slathered in buttery goodness. Washed down with a locally grown Sinistor ale.  I'm content with how it's ended. Maybe tomorrow I'll try again.

Very eloquent....  and I feel your somberness, as I've experienced it so many times....  Hey, it's about the journey, right?

Oh yeah. Could totally relate. Thanx for some perfect lunch time escapism in an otherwise chaotic world.
