After forgetting my seat back for my trident and enjoying it, I decided I might enjoy paddling it without a seat all the time. Anyone else paddle sans a seat?

Oh, hell no.  I need all the back support and butt padding I can get from a seat.  My butt gets sore after 2 hours, and after 4 I'm looking for an excuse to take a shore break.  I need a better seat.  Just don't have the spare cash right now for one.

I just started fishing without the back on my last few trips.  In three days i've paddled over twenty miles with no seat back and no more aches and pains than normal.

I did put some padding down to sit on but find the kayak much easier to maneuver in than with a seat back.

I got one of the hot seats and installed it like this.  So far so good and I never have to worry about forgetting it.  ;)

I have a Hot seat stuck down to my T-13 as well, but there's now way I could spend any amount of time in the kayak with out a seat back.  It just adds a layer of cush under my full seat.
