So after last weekend's 2 night trip, I thought about my power requirements for a week of camping and was wondering how this worked out last year.

I will be tent camping, so I will not have an RV hookup or anything but will need power to charge up my sonar battery, camera batteries, eCigar batteries, etc....  Is there power available in the tent area or should I look to buddy up with somebody in the RV section to power and charge my electronics?

I almost feel dirty posting the question because I pride myself in primitive camping, and really enjoy the break from the "real world" when I camp, but this is a little different since I "need" my sonar and my camera charged.  My eCigar can be replaced with regular smokes, but other than that....

Thanks :)

I'm sure that we can make arangements with the staff at Chinook Bend to use the power outlets in one of the stores, the restroom area, the restauraunt or on the riverside deck.

I thought you were going to be asking about using power for a heater or to run your hair dryer.

There's a maintenance/storage shed adjacent to the bathrooms. I'm sure that if somebody brings an extension cord and a surge protector that somebody will get you some juice.

Olyspec doesn't have to worry about a hair dryer....there ain't much up there. ::)

That's what I was planning on doing. Since I'm prefishing Friday I might need to recharge my radio and FF battery pack for Saturday.

I have a power inverter that I will be bringing. Plugs into a car cigarette lighter. I'd be more than willing to let it be passed around the camp grounds.

Check it out!!  I've got one of the smaller charging units and it will last a whole weekend charging my phone, batteries, and keeping my Engel fridge running.  If you want more juice, get the panel to charge continuously
No matter how many times the PB's tell me I'm nuts....I still smile every time I out fish them

I got one of those too, but it won't work on the oregon coast, it's always raining  ;-)

Forgot about the rain & clouds down there.  No solar panels for you guys.

I've used mine for a weekend without needing to recharge though.  Just make sure everything is peak charged and as cold as possible before you start using the juice.

Those Goal Zero generators/storage are neat. I had read about the Yeti 1250 on another forum and it looked pretty neat. That one cost $2000 though. The smaller units look like they would be fine for a weekend of small stuff like a phone or ff battery. Since you can charge it at home and bring it along you don't need the solar panel if it's raining.

Don't make me go out in the garage and make one of these.

Wait!

I could charge by the hour as a ride.    ;D

Ive got the extreme 350 and the inverter.  Love it so far.  Makes camping on the beach so much easier....and quieter.
