It seems like it might keep things from sliding around? Oh, maybe it was for when it was on the roof rack?

The yoga mat would offer no cushion... it probably does keep stuff from sliding around... but the weight would be virtually nothing.  Quiet and in, not spook the fish from the noisy kayaker and his paddle banging around.  I think he said it was based on a wilderness systems product.  Needless to say, it was like that when I bought it.

Hahahahaha....OH SNAP!  I am actually curious about the noise dampening properties of said material.  When you bump a paddle or drop a jig, is it a pretty quiet affair?  My piggy is loud, and needs a muzzle at times.  How do you like that stuff?
