Are you asking about fishing the surf zone for perch from your kayak?  If so, I can tell you that it is not an easy thing to do.  I've tried it unsuccessfully and I don't see myself giving it another shot anytime soon.  I tried hanging just outside the surf zone and casting into it and it seems like it should work in theory, but it just doesn't work when you actually try and do it.  It's actually downright freaky since you're needing to keep an eye out at all times for a big set that could come and wipe you out.  The only way I could see it being done is if you have a spot that has a relatively narrow surf zone or a day with really mellow conditions.  All things considered, surf perch just aren't worth all that effort IMO.

I don't know RF. That sounds like a ridiculous and fun game to play with friends. Sort of like rodeo poker. Sit just outside the break on a stripped down yak and see who can fish through the sets.
